Unraid OS 7.2.0-rc.2 Now Available
This release focuses on polishing the 7.2 experience, tightening up system stability, webGUI behavior, Windows VM defaults, and Samba compatibility as we get to Stable soon!

What's New in rc.2
Storage Fixes & Improvements
- No more “lost+found” share clutter – top-level lost+found directories are no longer shared over SMB.
- Samba fix for Windows folder creation issues when using ZFS primary + EXT4 secondary drives.
- Preserved parity integrity – new array devices are now correctly repartitioned and made available after restart.
- Drives under SMART test won’t spin down – ensuring test integrity.
- More robust modprobe config defaults – comments are now preserved in default config files.
VM Enhancements
- Updated Windows 11 VM defaults for a smoother first-time setup.
- Snapshot creation bug resolved, fixing rare display issues during snapshot workflows.
WebGUI Refinements
- Human-readable RAM and network speeds are now displayed throughout the interface.
- Cleaner Display Settings – removed extreme font size options that could break layout.
- Scheduler display fixed when viewing hourly tasks.
- Disabled menu items are now styled properly in Firefox.
System & Plugin Stability
- Improved anonymization of diagnostics.zip for better privacy.
- PHP fatal error protection added to help avoid full GUI crashes.
- Plugin install logs cleaned up for better clarity during setup.
- Memory leak in emhttpd resolved.

Updated to Linux kernel version 6.12.53-Unraid and refreshed multiple system libraries:

Stable is Coming Soon™
We’re nearing the finish line. If all goes well, Unraid OS 7.2.0 Stable will be next. Thanks again to everyone helping us test these release candidates!
Known Issues
- Incompatible Plugins: Theme Engine, Dark Theme, and Dynamix Date Time will be automatically uninstalled, along with outdated versions of Unraid Connect.
- Please update all plugins, especially Unraid Connect and the NVIDIA driver, before upgrading.
- Some plugins may still show visual issues with the responsive webGUI. Please give plugin authors time to update.
