Unraid OS 7.2.0-beta.2 Now Available

What's New in Beta 2?

WebGUI Enhancements

Responsive Design

The Unraid webGUI now adapts beautifully across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.

Fixes in beta.2:

  • File Manager display bugs resolved
  • Input fields restored on pop-ups
  • Tooltip display fixed
  • Footer layout corrected

Login with SSO (Optional)

Login to the Unraid webGUI using your Unraid.net account or any OIDC-compliant provider. Great for teams or multi-user environments. See: Docs → OIDC Setup

Other beta.2 improvements:

  • View E-Cores vs P-Cores on the Dashboard (refined)
  • Docker Advanced View restored (if tabs are disabled)
  • VPN Manager now hides key details by default

Storage Upgrades

ZFS RAIDZ Expansion

You can now expand single-vdev RAIDZ1/2/3 pools one drive at a time without needing to rebuild the pool.

Fixes & improvements in beta.2:

  • Now shows a warning if pool needs an upgrade before expansion
  • Better defaults for new RAIDZ pools
  • Fixed glibc bug that could lead to ZFS data loss

New Filesystem Support

Unraid now supports:

  • Ext2/3/4
  • NTFS
  • exFAT

Use case: Say you are a content creator with a box full of hard drives containing all of your historical videos. When first creating an array (or after running Tools → New Config), add all of your existing data drives (blank, or with data in a supported drive format) to the array. Any parity drives will be overwritten, but the data drives will retain their data. You can enjoy parity protection, share them on the network, and take full advantage of everything Unraid has to offer.

Critical note: you can continue adding filled data drives to the array up until you start the array with a parity drive installed. Once a parity drive has been added, any new data drives will be zeroed out when they are added to the array.

Also new in beta.2:

  • Improved the File System Type dropdown for easier selection
  • Disallows user share names like homes, global, and printers (reserved by Samba)
  • Fixed: Shares with invalid characters can now be deleted

Unraid API

The Unraid API is now fully embedded in the OS! It powers the new Notifications Panel and unlocks developer access for third-party tools.
