Unraid OS 7.1.0 is a public beta release that includes Wireless Networking support, Foreign ZFS Pool Imports, VM Enhancements, and more!
Unraid OS 7.1.0 is a public beta release and should only be used on test machines. Do not install this version on production systems, as beta software may contain bugs and instability.
The latest version of Unraid is here! Unraid OS 7.1.0-beta.1 brings wireless networking, foreign ZFS pool imports, and major enhancements to VM management, making your Unraid experience more powerful and flexible than ever. Whether you're looking to set up WiFi, streamline your virtual machine workflows, make use of advanced networking options, or easily migrate pools over to Unraid, this update has something for everyone.
One of the most exciting additions in this release is WiFi support! While a wired connection is still recommended for stability and performance, Unraid now gives you the flexibility to connect via wireless when necessary. Perfect for Unraiders away to college, city flat dwellers, or for those who have their servers located in hard to reach locations.
Setting up WiFi is easy. Head over to Settings → Network Settings → Wireless (wlan0) in the webGUI and follow these steps:
✅ Supports WPA2/WPA3 and WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise.
⚠️ Note: Wireless connectivity should not be used alongside a wired connection for long-term setups. If both connections use DHCP, Unraid will automatically adjust within 45-60 seconds when the network cable is unplugged.
💡 Tip: If you have trouble connecting, let us know in the forums! Most modern WiFi adapters should work, but we’ve seen some issues with the Broadcom BCM4313 chipset.
Unraid now supports importing foreign ZFS pools, making migrations from other platforms easier than ever. This includes pools from:
When importing, Unraid will automatically select the largest partition on each disk rather than the first—streamlining the process.
Unraid OS 7.1.0 introduces VirGL, allowing you to share Intel and AMD GPUs across multiple Linux VMs simultaneously for hardware-accelerated graphics (without monitor output).
How to enable VirGL:
